Experience
J. Michael Tecson has extensive experience in commercial and creditor's rights litigation. He has represented clients in both State and Federal Courts. Before joining Hogan Marren, Ltd. in 2004, Mr. Tecson mainly represented SBC Capital Services in breach of commercial lease agreements. Mr. Tecson has also represented individuals as well as corporate and government clients in other civil litigation matters including enforcement of non-competition and restrictive covenants, employment discrimination, statutory performance contracting, probate and will contests, insurance defense, class action defense, NASD arbitrations and AAA arbitrations. In addition, Mr. Tecson has represented individuals in criminal matters in a Federal jury trial involving mail fraud. Mr. Tecson has also represented managed services organizations, hospitals groups, and physician groups in litigation related to complex regulatory and antitrust matters.
Education
Mr. Tecson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. He received his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota where he was a member of the William Mitchell Law Review. During law school, Mr. Tecson interned in Minnesota's 10th Judicial District under the Honorable John C. Hoffman and at the Minnesota State Court of Appeals under the Honorable Gordon Shumaker.
Professional Memberships/Activities
Mr. Tecson is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys.
Mr. Tecson was admitted to both the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in the fall of 2001, and he was admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2003.
