Experience
Jeffrey M. Teske was formerly in-house counsel for the American Hospital Association and also served in a similar capacity in the Chicago Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Mr. Teske has more than 15 years of experience representing hospitals, physicians, physician groups, physician management companies and multi-provider networks in general corporate matters and with respect to healthcare-specific issues.
Education
Mr. Teske received a B.A., with distinction from Indiana University in 1978 and a J.D., cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in 1982. As an undergraduate, Mr. Teske was selected to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa. During law school, Mr. Teske and a colleague were Sherman Minton Moot Court champions.
Professional Memberships/Activities
Mr. Teske is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association Forum of Chicagoland, the American Health Lawyers Association, where he formerly served as Chair of the Antitrust Practice Group, the American Society of Association Executives, the Chicago Bar Association, where he formerly served as Chair of the Health and Hospital Law Committee, and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA). Mr. Teske currently serves as a membor of the Board of Directors of IAHA and was also recently elected to the Board of the Community Health Charities of Illinois, a federation that includes many of the premier health care agencies in Illinois. Mr. Teske also formerly served on the Northwestern University Institutional Review Board from 1990-1993.
Speeches and Publications
Mr. Teske has been a frequent speaker on healthcare-related issues and has written a number of published articles, including: "The Role of the State Action Exemption in Health Care Reform," Antitrust and Evolving Health Care Markets (Chicago Bar Association, Loyola University - Chicago School of Law, and DePaul University College of Law, 1995); "Second Generation Legal Issues in Integrated Delivery Systems," Healthcare Financial Management (HFMA, January 1995); and "Hospital Collaboration: The Need for an Appropriate Antitrust Policy," 27 Wake Forest Law Review 107 (Spring 1994). Mr. Teske was also recently featured in an "Interview with Jeffrey M. Teske, Esq.," which appeared in Quality Management in Health Care (Fall, 2002).
Mr. Teske was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1982 and joined Hogan Marren, Ltd. in 2003.
