Experience
Laura C. Liu has fifteen years of experience in general civil and commercial litigation, and also has extensive experience in transactions and negotiations involving health care and labor matters. She has represented governmental, corporate and individual clients in federal and state trials and arbitrations involving a wide range of substantive areas, including contract dispute and business tort, insurance coverage, defamation, products liability, intellectual property, antitrust, and labor and employment matters. Her litigation experience also includes representing clients in investigative and enforcement proceedings involving state and federal regulatory agencies. Ms. Liu's practice includes representation of healthcare clients in transactions and disputes involving payor-provider relations, regulatory compliance, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and managed care contracting. She has also represented Taft-Hartley benefit funds and labor organizations in negotiations and disputes involving collective bargaining agreements, jurisdictional disputes, employer contributions, unfair labor practices, and general labor-management relations.
Education
Ms. Liu received her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1991, and her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Youngstown State University in 1987, following an accelerated three year undergraduate B.S./M.D. program.
Ms. Liu was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1991 and joined Hogan Marren, Ltd. in 1998.
