Experience
With more than 10 years of experience in health care, Thomas J. Babbo has
represented and advised hospitals, physicians, and other health care professionals
in transactions, corporate matters, operations issues, litigation, and government
investigations. Before joining the health care practice at Hogan Marren, Ltd.,
Mr. Babbo was Assistant General Counsel for Advocate Health Care, and served as
the legal counsel and Corporate Secretary for Advocate's managed care contracting
joint venture, Advocate Health Partners. While at Advocate, Mr. Babbo provided
legal services in such areas as managed care contracting, antitrust and clinical
integration, information systems and telecommunications, medical education and
clinical research, and hospital and physician practice operations. Prior to Advocate,
Mr. Babbo served as Assistant General Counsel for Rush University Medical Center.
Education
Mr. Babbo received his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Classical Civilization,
Magna Cum Laude, from Loyola University Chicago, and received his Juris Doctor
degree from Loyola's School of Law.
Professional Memberships/Activities
Mr. Babbo is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, and holds academic
appointments at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law (Adjunct Professor),
Rush University's Health Systems Management Program (Assistant Professor), and
Dominican University's School of Business Administration (Adjunct Professor).
